Bequests and Supporting the Troops
Milton and Beatrice have been faithful supporters of The Salvation Army ever since World War II. Milton was a soldier in the Pacific and remembers how The Salvation Army provided him free coffee and donuts while other agencies were charging the soldiers. Milton remembers debarking onto a desert island and approaching a tent and being offered a cup of coffee and a donut, then being asked for 10 cents. He was infuriated. Then he came upon another tent offering coffee and donuts. In a gruff voice he said, "How much do you want?" With a smile, the young Salvation Army lassie said, there is no charge. Milton never forgot that 3 oz. cup of coffee and donut. Now he and Beatrice want to repay that kindness. More on Bequests and Supporting the Troops >>.
